Sporg selects NetNation for managed web operations
Vancouver, BC June 24, 2003 -
NetNation Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: NNCI) announced today that it has been chosen by Sporg Internet Corporation to provide managed web hosting services for the event registrar's web site, http://www.sporg.com.
Sporg, a pioneer and an industry leader in secure online event registration and planning services, provides web based registration tools, including credit card and check payment processing, to various organizations such as; business associations, community groups, clubs and societies, religious organizations, and sports leagues.
NetNation will provide the event registrar with a fully managed environment from which Oracle and IBM Websphere Application Server will power its registration engine. Services provided by NetNation to Sporg will include data back up, load balancing, intrusion detection, database management, and server maintenance.
Sporg has chosen a full suite of managed services to ensure peak performance and data integrity for their web operations. The event registrar won't have to manage the day to day maintenance of their web infrastructure because NetNation will take care of that for them. It ultimately saves them time and money.
Businesses with complex web sites are more frequently turning to experienced managed hosting providers to maintain their servers at a lower cost. Outsourcing server management frees technical resources that would have been used to manage the company's web presence in-house.
